Yarra Valley Water
This beautiful piece was created by the Marketing and Communications Team at Yarra Valley Water to represent its Core Purpose …
“We make it easy for everyone to connect”
The Marketing and Communications team has a mix of new and established team members, who while under the Marketing and Communications umbrella, have very different functions and customers. The Managers goal was for her and the team to work through the years Business Plan, challenges and opportunities. After understanding each others functions and the direction of the Division the final goal was to capture the teams Core Purpose using the Mind Gallery process.
The overall picture is a “community picnic” where different and diverse members of the community come to a central point to connect, socialize, build relationships and communicate. This captures the Marketing’s core purpose, where they are a central point to help different department/divisions of Yarra Valley water to connect with each other, customers and stakeholders and to help customers, stakeholders and interested groups connect into and with Yarra Valley Water.
The art is in the ‘Cubist Style”, where objects are broken up, analyzed, and re-assembled in an abstracted form—instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context.
This is a metaphor for the Marketing and Communications team, who also need to adapt and re assemble communication depending on who they are working with, often creating a more engaging and targeted message.
The stories behind the individual pictures are as follows:
Fruit of the Vine
The Marketing Team is represented by the vine. The fruit represents the different groups we connect with. The vine and fruit interconnect and weave in, around, through and outside the organisation to uncover a bountiful and diverse garden.
Community
Our picture represents collecting, sorting and developing ideas and information from all parts of our community (Internal, external and stakeholders) to create a clear, concise and beautiful message. This is represented by the strands meeting at the diamond.
Honeycomb wings
This picture is an abstract, close up image of a honey bees wings. Inside it is a visual representation of the honeycomb that the bees produce. Bees are organized, productive, collaborative, work in teams, celebratory and social.
They are natural examples of an insect that finds it easy to connect to its tasks, life, network and purpose.
